Every once in a while a band comes along that stands out as a really interesting new band. Maybe it's the way they look, the skills they have as a band and individuals, how they sound or what they are trying to say. Usually it's a combination of all ingredients. Timeless musical quality,  joined with contemporary beats and a message that everyone can hang on to. You can spell that out as the hard working rockers who have joined together under the moniker of - The Rise!

The Rise is yet another strong debut from Sweden, but the individual members of the band are by no means newcomers on the scene. Peter Carlsohn has a well-known reputation as bass player in the swedish band Jerusalem. From the same band you will also find the hard hitting drummer Mikael Ulvsgärd. Singer extra-ordinaire Sonny Larsson is known for his role as lead vocalist in the band Motherlode and his three albums with XT. Not to mention the tasteful and quite brilliant guitar playing by Ulf Jenevall. Guesting on this album are also keyboard wiz Reidar I Paulsen of Jerusalem fame!

Melody and muscle is always a hard to find balanced blend when it comes to rock music. Find a band that can deliver both and you've discovered a rarity. That's what makes the debut album "Bluezone" by The Rise such a standout release. This is a group that doesn't sacrifice any playing or songwriting skills when it comes to delivering edgy rock with cool hooks
combined with crafty melodies.
